Tips and Basic information on my quilting.

For the best results:
Your backing should be 4-6" larger on all sides than your quilt top. The length can be longer as I can roll the length up on the rollers. The width should be within the 4-6" range. If you find your backing is not wide enough, then add scrap material on each side just for more fabric that I can attach my clamps to and this fabric will eventually be cut off.

PRESS your backing fabric so there are no wrinkles.

Your batting needs to be the same width of your backing, cut it down to size if you need to, but again, the length can be the longer.

If you have a pieced border or piano keys, anything that isn't a one piece border, stay stitch the edge to keep those seams from coming apart in the quilting process. Stay stitching is sewing a line 1/8th" along the edge of the quilt. When you bind your quilt that sewing line should not interfere with your binding.

A reminder that I trim all quilts after I quilt them unless you tell me ahead of time that you do not want me to trim them. I do not square up your quilt , I simply trim.

Thread costs: This ranges from $3.00-$5.00 depending on the size and density of the quilting.
Variegated threads range from $6.-$10.00 depending on the same reasons.

Batting: I do carry several batting types. The rolls that I carry in 96" widths are an 80/20 batting called Elegant Blend similar to Hobbs 80/20 but much better.
I also have packaged various sizes of Dream products and Polar Fleece which is a poly product.

You are always welcome to bring your own batting, however, it does need to be cut to the right width.

I do not have time to do finished binding at this time.

Pricing for edge to edge, allover quilting is: There are 4 levels depending on the patterns that you choose.  Lowest level is .0175 per square inch. then .02 and .025, the highest is .0275per square inch.

Custom quilting is determined by the quilt staring at .03 per square inch and up.

Minimum charge for a edge to edge quilt is $50.00. Minimum charge for custom quilting is $100.00.
